Winter holiday in Lake District – Part 2

This is the second blog post about our winter holiday in Lake District. We had a great time and today I will talk more about chocolate and gin and less about nature.

Winter holiday in Lake District

We visited Keswick for the first time and I fell in love. While we were walking down main street, I saw a chocolate shop, Ye Old Friars of Keswick. There had a huge selection of chocolate that came in all shapes, sizes and colours. I’ve never been to such a diverse chocolate shop before, so I was impressed. We bought chocolate, I took pictures and we left the shop delighted.

After visiting the chocolate shop, we continued our walk. At one point, our Cutie wanted to turn right, I think it was because a lot of people were going that way. I said ok and then I saw a shop window which was selling old style jewellery. There were plenty of silver jewellery with different gemstones, brooches, handmade jewellery and there was an art gallery upstairs. From Magpie and Maysons, I bought a pair of earrings, a ring and a brooch and I love them.

The next day we went to The Lakes Distillery. We arrived in the evening and they still had the Christmas decorations and the place looked beautiful. You can book a distillery tour &tasting, meet the alpacas, have dinner and visit their shop. We had a nice dinner and I was impressed how the shop was designed. I bought a nice bottle of gin, a gin&tonic lip balm and a scented candle. Yes, I am a gin lover!

We had a lovely time in Keswick and I was proud of my Cutie because he was so nice and patient. I am very happy that we discovered these places and we had a lovely time in this beautiful town.
